SY23-24 Parent/Guardian Attendance Responsibilities

Kelly PRIDE List: Eligibility requirements to participate in Kelly HS student activities.

Must be passing all classes (no Fs),
Must have 90% Weekly Attendance Rate
Must be in good standing (no disciplinary infraction) during that quarter.

Daily Attendance

How can I help my child get to class on time?

Make sure your child is getting enough sleep
Doors open at 7:oo am, your child can enter using door 3, or 5.
Make sure your child is at school by 7:30 am everyday
M, T, TH, F : Class begins at 7:45 am and end at 3:00 pm
Wednesday: Class begins at 7:45 am and end at 2:04 pm

How can I check my child’s attendance record?

What should I do if my child was marked absent but they were present?

Send an email to your child’s teacher to request an attendance correction or stop by room 114 to pick up an attendance correction form

What should I do if my child missed a day of school because they were sick?

Get a doctor’s note for your child. Email or drop off doctor’s note to Mr. Diaz, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Ye in room 114
If your child will not be able to attend classes because of an emergency, please make sure to call 773-535-4910. Leave a voicemail with name, reason, and phone number.

Covid 19 Guidance

What if my child tested positive for covid?

Please self report using this link or call 773-553-KIDS (5437)

P: Present: you were in class and on time.
T: Tardy: You were not in class on time
SF: School Functioned: You are attending a school event or meeting with a staff member
AUX: A class absence; An unexcused absence

AEX: An absence can be excused if you bring in a doctor’s note

Collect and complete missing work
Email your teachers and communicate about missing work
Email/drop off your doctor note to any of the following attendance team members; Mr. Diaz, Ms. Martinez, or Ms. Ye in room 114.

¿Cómo puedo ayudar a mi hijo a llegar a tiempo?

Asegúrese que su hijo/a duerma bien
Las puertas abren a las 7 am, su hijo debe entrar usando las puertas 3 o 5
Asegúrese que su hijo esté en la escuela a más tardar a las 7:30 am todos los días
Lunes,Martes,Jueves y Viernes: Clases de 7:45 am a 3 pm
Todos los Miercoles 7:45 am - 2:04 pm

¿Qué pasa si mi hijo llega tarde a la clase?

Su hijo/a aún puede registrarse y participar en el resto de la clase

¿Cómo puedo verificar el registro de asistencia de mi hijo?

Regístrese en el portal para padres con un representante en la Oficina de Asistencia

¿Qué debo hacer si mi hijo fue marcado como ausente pero estuvo presente?

Envíe a su hijo a la oficina de asistencia para recibir un formulario de corrección de asistencia.

¿Qué debo hacer si mi hijo faltó un día a la escuela porque estaba enfermo?

Obtenga una nota del médico para su hijo. Envíe por correo electrónico la nota al Sr. Díaz en el salon 114
Si no puede asistir a clases virtuales debido a una emergencia, asegúrese de llamar al 773-535-4910. Deje un mensaje con su nombre, motivo de ausencia y su número de teléfono.

T: Tardanza: no estabas en clase antes de la campana
SF: Escuela en funcionamiento: Asiste a un evento escolar o una reunión con un miembro del personal
